Abstract:

Photographs of anti-Vietnam War activist Tom Dunphy in costume as General Wastemoreland. Includes two copy photographs from Dunphy's younger years. Also includes original uniform costumes and props used by Wastemoreland. Poster, owned by Dunphy, bears a portrait and quotation of Dan Katchongva, Hopi leader. 2015 additions: 6 snapshots of Dunphy posing in General Wastemoreland in the early 1990s.

Costume uniform jackets, hat, and tennis rackets used by General Wastemoreland added to the Historical Object Miscellany of The Bancroft Library (BANC PIC 19xx.031:125 and 19xx.031:127-131--OBJ).
From 2015 additions, 2 letters by Arthur Hoppe, a note by Dunphy on his use of the tennis racket prop, and a photocopy of a 1974 article on Dunphy transferred to the Manuscript Collections of the The Bancroft Library (BANC MSS 2004/155 c).
